Mondays for Moms: The Beginning
Monday, January 25, 2016 - 8:09am
Hello. It is a great day at Mr. Rooter Plumbing! My name is Kimberly. I know you moms are very busy, and the last thing on your mind is plumbing problems. I’m going to start Monday blogs for just us moms.
Let me start off by telling you a little about myself. I am a working mom of three very young children and one on the way. I got married young to Benjamin (a very courteous Mr. Rooter Service Technician). Throughout his 6 years in the Army, I (a stay-at-home mom) raised one baby after the other by myself around the world while he was serving our country.
I have seen my fair share of emergencies. I had to take care of everything myself, a broken car, leaking dishwasher, frozen/busted water lines, no kitchen counters and sink due to renovations (second time from a huge contractor error)… you name it, it happened.
Now that I’m a working mom, I am constantly running after the kids, having fun, and making the most out of the time I have with my kids. I don’t have time for emergencies.
So, Mondays are for you. I will post plumbing tips that will help you make the most out of your busy day and focus on raising your children.
TIP#1: Are you expecting many guests in your home for a birthday party, holiday gathering, etc.? Remove your knick knacks, sprays, whatever you have on your toilet tank or shelves above your toilet. Accidents happen and with many guests visiting your bathroom something might fall in the toilet. And let's be honest, if you drop something in someone else's toilet, do you retrieve it or flush it? Children are most likely going to flush whatever fell in the toilet. Eliminate this headache by removing everything behind your toilet before your guests arrive. It might save you an overflowing toilet and a call to your plumber.
