Floor drain replacement is usually necessary if you’re dealing with anything other than a clog. Damaged pipes, cracked housings, and other issues can't easily be repaired and will likely return after being fixed.
We recommend replacing any drain that is over 25 years old. Our team can handle basement floor drain replacements for a wide variety of drain types, including:
- Box drain: A box drain is a hollow box beneath your floor. The box is covered by a grate and has a pipe on the bottom that connects to your sewer line. During a flood, water flows into the box, then the sewer line. The box will hold any excess water that isn't immediately emptied into the drain.
- French drain/interior perimeter drain: French drains are great for flood-prone areas in Virginia Beach. They're installed in a trench surrounding the basement perimeter and are connected to a sump pump that pushes water outside the home. They cost a bit more than other basement floor drains but are excellent at preventing floods.
- Baseboard drain: Baseboard drains sit above the basement floor and guide water out of your basement via a pipe that connects to your home's exterior. Though they prevent major floods from worsening, they do not prevent water from accumulating in the basement. They're typically used in unfinished basements.
No matter what kind of drain repair you need, you can count on our team to get the job done right!
