    In late 2016, I approached my lovely wife Deborah with an outlandish idea, to start our own plumbing company after years of both of us working in the mechanical services industry for large corporations. She was immediately all in and we began researching which direction we wanted to take with our new venture. Did we want to purchase an existing business? Did we want to start a small business from the ground up? We ultimately decided that the franchise model was the correct path and narrowed in on Mr. Rooter Plumbing, which is part of the Neighborly Group of Companies. We liked the brand, and their core values which closely matched our own, so we flew to their HQ to meet the management team and were instantly “all in”. On February 1, 2017 our Mr. Rooter Plumbing baby was born and it has consumed our lives ever since.

    So who is Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Virginia Beach? We are a locally owned franchise plumbing company serving South Hampton Roads, including the cities of Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth and Suffolk. Both Deborah and I, grew up in and near Virginia Beach, taking pride in the region and the unique and diverse culture it offers. We both actively run the company, wearing multiple hats on any given day, as most small businesses owners do, but we are just one piece of the puzzle that makes the company so special. We are surrounded by an amazing team of hard working individuals, including multiple service technicians, and office personnel, who help deliver on our promise of outstanding customer service and workmanship. They help guide everyday decisions by trusting in the team’s overall core values. To sum them all up, they are as follows:

    • Own Your Stuff - You touch it you own it to the end. Finish what you start and be accountable for the outcome.
    • Treat Everyone as Family - How would you want someone treating your mother if they were on site for a service call at her house? Treat every customer this way.
    • Go Home Just the Way you Arrived - Safety should guide every jobsite decision.
    • Do it Right the First Time - You know the saying .… “Measure twice cut once”. Let’s solve the problem the first time out.
    • Kindness Costs Nothing - Be kind. Be empathetic. Be Genuine. It’s free currency.

    In short, we strive to provide the ultimate customer experience, because who wakes up thinking about plumbing besides us?
