Grease Traps

Restaurants and other commercial and industrial food processing plants are required to have grease traps installed in their plumbing systems to remove grease from waste water to reduce contamination as the water enters the local waste water system. There are several types and sizes of grease traps, some of which fit under a sink and others that are giant industrial systems. Most are composed of cast iron or stainless steel, which are materials that can succumb to corrosion and degradation. Grease traps should be serviced regularly, with frequent pumping and cleaning.
