Fire Hydrants

Throughout the city and in strategically placed areas near buildings and homes are fire hydrants to allow firefighters to instantly tap into a powerful water source and fight a fire. But, fire hydrants are susceptible to degradation as the gaskets, O-rings, and other internal parts can corrode. They also can become damaged due due traffic or other collisions that may knock the hydrant loose and break key parts. In such cases, the hydrant will require servicing or replacement. In most cases, local municipalities are responsible for inspection and maintenance for hydrants on public property. But those on private property may be the responsibility of the property owners.
