When you call Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Delmarva for residential pipe lining services, we will walk you through the entire process. At first, it may seem complicated, but the process will run smoothly when you work with seasoned pros like us. The process of relining an underground pipe involves the following steps:
- Step One – First, we inspect the pipe to assess the damage. In many cases, we will use video camera inspection to understand the extent of the damage. As long as the pipe has not collapsed too much or become structurally unsound, we can then start preparing the pipe for its new lining.
- Step Two – Now, we clear out the pipe and get it ready for the new liner. Our team can use hydro jetting to blast clogs and accumulated debris from your pipe. Hydro jetting uses a high-pressure stream of water to scour the inside of your pipe completely clean. This is essential because it gives the new lining a fresh inner surface.
- Step Three – With the pipe preparation completed, we can insert the new liner. The liner looks like a large tube or sleeve. It is made of polyester or fiberglass with a resin compound. We thread the sleeve through the pipe. Once it’s in place, we will keep it there while it hardens. Hot water and UV radiation are often used to speed up the hardening process. After the hardening is complete, we will cut out any junctions or inspection points.
- Step Four – At the end of the process, we will perform a final inspection to ensure the new inner lining is secure and perfectly installed. We often use video camera inspection again to ensure no flaws or issues.
