A Thanksgiving Host’s Complete Checklist

Thanksgiving is just days away, meaning hosts across the country are preparing their home for guests near and far. While it may seem stressful having to prepare your house for 10 or even 20+ people, breaking your to-do list down room by room is an easy way to make sure everything gets done.

In the Kitchen

  • Prepare your meal ahead of time
  • Make sure you have enough dishes and utensils
  • Make or buy drinks
  • Put out serving trays

In the Guest Bedroom

  • Change the linens
  • Put an extra pillow in the closet
  • Dust
  • Vacuum

In the Bathroom

  • Clean the toilet and faucets
  • Sweep and mop the floor
  • Make sure extra toilet paper is readily available
  • Empty the trash can
  • Have a can of air freshener handy
  • Change out the hand towel
  • Place extra shower towels in an easy-to-find place
  • Have your plumbing inspected

In the Living Room

  • Sweep or vacuum
  • Wash the decorative blankets
  • Find ways to implement extra seating
  • Turn a football game on
  • Put up your fall decor
  • Light a candle

We know being the host to such a large group of people can be hard. Allow Mr. Rooter of San Francisco to make it a little easier this year by making sure your plumbing is up to par. After all, you don't want to have an issue on Thanksgiving, with all of your guests still at your house. Plus, you want to make sure your plumbing can handle all of the extra use that day.
