  • These guys are awesome, a little pricey for water heater install, but the quality of work and the professionalism that they have is un-matched, and I would always choose to use them again.

  • I had a laundry room drain over flow this morning! I went to Home Advisor which I used in the past and because I wanted to change plumbing companies as well. I went through the steps on Home Advisor and two companies came to the top of the list. I saw the top one had a higher rating so I started to give a message to them when Mr Rooter called me within 5 to 10 minutes. I made an appointment for a time of 3 pm to 5 pm and was advised that if their plumber could make it out here faster they would. So at 12:55 ish I got a call from Jeff at Mr Rooter saying he would be here at my home in about 1/2 hour. Jeff got here about 1:30 on the dot and we got talking about the issue. I explained that the laundry room floor from the washing machine rinse cycle had flooded part of the laundry room. I had to put on hunting boots and bailed out the floor with a 10 gal bucket. In fact ti was three buckets about 3/4 full before the floor was drained down and was surface wet. So Jeff explained what he was going to do which was to run an industrial snake into the chase of the floor drain to clear the horizontal line back to the standing pipe then fill the washer with water and let it drain into the floor drain to make sure there was no blockage there. We went though that. and there was no problem. Next Jeff took the snake to the standing pipe, got the snake through the ‘j’ trap under the standing pipe and then through the horizontal chase run in the opposite direction to the floor drain. Then Jeff filled the machine to rinse cycle, stopped it and put the rinse pipe into the standing drain and let the machine go through a rinse pumping the water directly from the standing pipe to the floor drain. Not one drop of water came up from the floor drain opening but it went the normal channel down the underground pipe to exit the house! We had had this problem in the past and the other company came out twice to fix it. they weren’t able to clear the standing pipe through the ‘j’ trap at all. So we left it as the standing pipe flooding the floor which just ran into the floor drain not causing any problem. But now the standing pipe drains as it was designed to do. We also got advice on finishing renovating our basement bath and we can call on Mr Rooter when we are ready to fix the master bath shower as it needs to have the knobs replaced with a newer fixture down the road. It was well worth the price to have the plumbing fixed right in one time in a shorter amount of time than the 2 visits from the competition which was not Home Advisor approved. Thank you Mr Rooter for great Sunday Service! And they charge by the job not the hour! Ok update on Saturday March 2 the laundry room had standing water again. Not because of the efforts of Jeff . It was a larger problem…. roots in the sewer line from the house. He came back out on 3/3/3019 a Sunday again! I mean you cannot beat this for service folks! In the past I’ve lived in other cities and they charge you extra for Sundays… He then did the snake into the main sewer drain leading from the house and got some roots which had gotten in the pipes from trees looking for water. He wasn’t able to get to all of them and suggested the next step which was to have a couple of drain clean outs put in to get tot the root of the problem. I told him I had been in that situation before some years ago in another house in Atlanta so I knew where we had to go with this. My house he came out to unfortunately lost service because the problem could not be completely solved by using the regular professional industrial snake. So the next day 3/4/2019 Doug the supervisor came and we set up to get the clean outs put in and take care of the rest of the sewer line coming out of the house. They were able to come back yesterday 3/6/2019 with Doug’s crew of guys to excavate the area in the front yard to fix the problem. Braxton came into the house with a camera to put into the sewer outlet in the basement of the house which is cast iron pipe which leads through the foundation to the dirt in yard where the pipe turns to clay pipe

Frequently Asked Questions About Plumbing in Calhan, Colorado

Our helpful team is here to answer any questions you have about our plumbing products and services in Calhan. Read our frequently asked questions below for more information on Mr. Rooter Plumbing® in Calhan, Colorado and our plumbing services.

  • In most cases, dripping faucets are caused by worn parts like washers and valve seats that can wear out with constant faucet-turning, as well as mineral build-up. If you have high water pressure, you may experience a dripping faucet — contact an experienced plumber to test the pressure and make adjustments. Living somewhere with hard water may mean dripping faucets are a common problem because minerals and solids can build up and eventually cause rust to form. If you’re unsure what’s causing your dripping faucet and don’t know how to fix it, reach out to a plumbing service provider to repair it for you.

  • If you’ve recently performed maintenance or an inspection and now have low water pressure, check your primary water shutoff valves to make sure they’re both completely open. Contact a plumbing professional in your area if you have low water pressure since pipe blockages can sometimes cause these issues. If you’ve noticed that your water pressure changes from high to low or the other way around without much warning time, it could be a problem with your water pressure regulator. Talk to a trusted plumbing service provider in your area about a possible broken pipe if you have low water pressure and unusual wet patches in your yard.

  • If you have a slow-draining sink and don’t feel confident tackling it yourself, contact a plumbing service provider in your area to identify the cause and fix it. Oftentimes, sinks draining slowly are caused by soap scum and grease, so try pouring baking soda and vinegar down your drain to see if it clears it or speeds up the draining process. Some blockages in pipes from sinks can be hard to shift, so try inserting a plumbing snake into your drain, twisting it, and pulling out any possible clogs. P-traps can be a common and frustrating cause of slow-draining sinks but are fortunately easy for you or a plumbing professional to clean out.

  • Don’t underestimate the value of regular plumbing maintenance tasks like water heater flushes and drain cleaning services to prevent plumbing leaks so that you can identify possible problems. Maintaining your pipes’ health can involve being mindful of what you pour down your drain, like avoiding paper products, grease, oil, and coffee grounds. As high water pressure can lead to plumbing leaks due to pipe damage, install a pressure regulator or check your water pressure often if you have this issue. As wintry weather can sometimes cause pipe leaks and damage, you may like to prepare your pipes for the winter ahead by insulating, covering, and protecting them.

  • When you’re at a loss as to why your sink has a foul odor, contact a plumbing service provider to diagnose and remedy the problem on your behalf. Bacteria love to hang out on blockages and clogs in sinks, producing foul-smelling waste, so check your sink for possible obstructions that may be causing the odor. Sewer-like smells coming from a sink are generally sewer gases, which can enter your home when the P-traps dry out from the sinks not being used very much. Be sure to check your garbage disposal if you notice unpleasant odors around your sink, as it can accumulate bacteria, mold, and decomposing food that lead to bad smells.

  • A small water heater that can’t cater to all household occupants is a common reason your water isn’t getting hot enough — your demands exceed supply. Make sure your water heater thermostat isn’t set too low, but refrain from setting it any higher than 120 degrees, as this can present a severe risk of second and third-degree burns. If you have an older water heater, the inner components could be broken, such as gas valves, thermostats, and heating elements, that are stopping your water from heating. When you’re not having any luck diagnosing the reason for a lack of hot water, contact a plumber in your area who can identify the problem.

  • A leaking pipe, fixture, or faucet is often to blame for an abnormally high water bill, so reach out to a local trusted plumber to confirm. There can be a genuine risk of wasteful runoff and excess consumption with outdoor irrigation systems, so check your system’s settings to see if it’s contributing to your high water bill. Don’t forget to consider any water-using appliances on your property, like dishwashers, washing machines, and water heaters, since their efficiency, age, and any issues with them can cause a high water bill. A leaking toilet tank can see the waste of around 80,000 gallons of water every year, which is why it can be worth inspecting when you’ve noticed a strangely high water bill.

  • ·Turn off water and power: If a pipe bursts inside a building, turn off both your water and power since the combination can be a health and safety risk. Contact a trusted plumbing service provider: Phone a plumber in your area as soon as you suspect a burst pipe since they will take care of repairs and replacements on your behalf for peace of mind. Clean up excess water: When the immediate chaos of your burst pipe has passed, reach for a bucket, mop, and towels to start your cleanup efforts — unless sewage is present. Document any damage: Burst pipes can certainly cause a great deal of damage, so create a list of your losses and take plenty of photos and videos for insurance purposes.

  • A malfunctioning chain or flapper can cause a toilet to keep running after you’ve flushed it, with toilet flappers becoming brittle with age and the chain connected to it being caught on something. When floats become waterlogged, they can sit at a lower level than your toilet needs and leave the float valve open, so inspect your toilet float and replace it if necessary. Fill valves in a toilet are responsible for shutting off the water supply to your toilet, but when they fail, they can stop performing this critical task. Phone a plumber in your area for assistance with your toilet if you’re unsure why it won’t stop running after it has been flushed.

  • Look for a water supply valve inside your home, which means you can quickly and easily turn off the water supply to your house with a simple clockwise turn. In some cases, you can turn off the water supply to your property by accessing the water valve within an underground water meter box with a security bolt you have to undo with a pentagon socket wrench. Depending on the design of your water meter box, you may need pliers or a meter key to easily access your water shutoff valve within it. Most trusted plumbers are happy to help their customers locate their home water supply valves when they’ve been unable to find them themselves.
