We must commend Mr. Rooter Plumbing for job not only well done but very neatly, professionally and promptly. When your team first arrived on November 22, 2024 we had no idea what to expect and only hoped the efforts we put forth in trying to identify and resolve a phantom odor in our building would be the net result. Your team quickly investigated based on what we had previously done and after thorough inspection determined our main sewer vent pipe might be the culprit. After camming the pipe it was determined the old cast iron pipe which starts vertical in the basement turns horizonal in the ceiling on the first floor appears to be blocked by scale and debris. We scheduled the repairs expecting the worst. On December 4, 2024 your team arrived and began demolition of ceilings and walls on the first and second floor to gain access to the pipe. Upon thorough inspection we received confirmation that this horizontal section of pipe had long outlived its life expectancy with holes in it and clearly needed to be replaced. Your team faced challenges along the way trying to gain access to the pipe discovering walls behind walls and ceilings under ceilings but nevertheless the persevered and completed the replacement section of pipe and repair. Since they have left, we have no sense of odor emulating from the areas worked in or throughout the building and to our surprise the amount of drywall and plaster that had to be removed was much less than we initially feared. We are grateful for the minimal disruption to our business, professional manner in which the job was conducted, and thoroughness you team his displayed throughout this process. RBellen for CBZ Law

My phone call for service was answered promptly. An appointment was set up immediately and the service was performed expeditiously. The service call was made by Sean who has serviced my rental property in the past. He called me advance of his arrival which saved me a lot of time as I was coming from outside the area, He took the time to explain the problem and presented some different material and cost options. This was very helpful and allowed me to work with-in my budget while allowing him to properly address the solution. I would recommend Mr. Rooter and their team of knowledgeable plumbers and staff to anyone who wants prompt and professional service at a reasonable price. Thank you. John Konevich

A water heater repair specialist should be first on your list to call when you’ve been having problems with your water heater. When you want your water heater to be repaired to a high standard, call a water heater repair service provider who has licensing and insurance. Hire a water heater repair expert who comes highly recommended by friends and family members, or one that has many positive online reviews and testimonials. Choose a service provider who guarantees their parts and workmanship for water heater repair services so you can trust that your water heater will be repaired, maintained, or replaced to a high standard.
-
When your water heater isn’t producing hot water, you may be able to solve the problem by checking the thermostat, inspecting the heating elements, and confirming a power supply. If your water heater has sprung a leak from a loose connection, a worn pressure relief valve, or rust, contact a trained professional to provide repairs, new parts, or total water heater replacement. Water heaters that make strange noises can often be affected by sediment buildup, and this issue is usually easy to remedy by flushing the tank. Most people don’t feel confident repairing their own water heaters, so don’t be afraid to contact a water heater repair business in your area to perform repairs or total replacement for you.
-
Age can play a part in whether a water heater is worth repairing, so check the manufacturer’s label and consider replacement if it’s 8-12 years old or older. Water heater repairs don’t always make financial sense if the cost of a new unit will be around half what you would spend on repairs in a year. If you’ve needed to perform multiple repairs to your water heater in recent months, start thinking about replacing your water heater. Whether you repair or replace your water heater can sometimes depend on how efficient your current water heater is and how well it performs compared to new ones.
-
Repairing a leaking water heater doesn’t always make financial sense when it’s leaking due to rust or corrosion — replacement can be the better option. If you’ve noticed water leaking from your water heater’s pipes or fittings, check the connections on your inlet and outlet pipes for leaks and contact a service professional for help to remedy them. Leaks from the pressure relief valves of water heaters can often be repaired simply by replacing the valve — your licensed and insured service professional can help with this. Drain valve leaks are easy to fix by experienced water heater experts if the cause of the leak is due to valve damage or a half-closed valve.
-
While the national water heater repair costs average around $600, expect to pay more to repair an older water heater in poor condition. Your water heater repair bill can differ from other people’s based on the type of water heater you have, like gas, electric, tank, or tankless. Water heaters can be affected by different issues like leaks, sediment buildup, and faulty parts, which means repair costs can vary depending on the diagnosed problem. Your location contributes to your water heater repair bill since labor costs for plumbing service providers can vary across different locations.
-
The type of water heater you choose will contribute to the overall replacement cost, with gas, electric, tank, and tankless models all costing different amounts to install. Replacement costs will vary for a water heater based on whether you choose a large or small tank and the flow rate of the unit, so keep this in mind when trying to determine the typical water heater replacement cost. A variety of elements can affect the cost of replacing a water heater, including the difficulty of installation, the need for permits, and your chosen installer. If you want to know how much it costs to replace a water heater, request a job estimate from your local plumbing service professional.
-
When your current water heater is no longer economical to run and repair, or it’s old (over 10 years) and inefficient, it’s time to start looking for a replacement. It’s worth looking at water heater replacement options if you’ve already spent a great deal of money on repairs and you see that trend continuing. Consider replacing your water heater if it’s starting to get rusty or has already started leaking due to rust. There are countless reasons to consider water heater replacement, such as when you want to increase capacity, enjoy better energy efficiency, or need a water heater that better fits your needs.
-
In many situations, the installation timeframe for a water heater in a commercial or residential property is impacted by the type of water heater you wish to install. At a minimum, installing a water heater can take around three hours and up to five, but you can ask your local service provider for a more accurate timeline based on your existing setup. Talk to your local plumbing service provider about your plumbing connections, as the need to repair, replace, or install new ones may contribute to the water heater installation timeline. Your chosen plumber may advise you that additional tasks like installing new gas lines and modifying spaces to make water heaters fit can add extra time to the three to five hour average water heater installation timeframe.
-
Research how long most water heaters like yours tend to last, as you can expect that lifespan to be around the same as your own water heater and when you should replace it. Generally, standard water heaters can last for around eight to 12 years, with some models lasting up to around 15 if they are of a high-efficiency model. If you have a tankless water heater, you may not need to consider a replacement for 15 to 20 years if it has been well maintained and professionally installed. While water heaters can last an average of eight to 12 years before requiring replacement, factors like water quality, repairs, maintenance, and performance may contribute to a shorter than expected lifespan in homes and businesses.
-
Some home purchasers consider paying more for a house with newer technology and upgraded features, including a newly installed, high-efficiency water heater. A newly installed water heater or other appliance upgrades can certainly be attractive to homebuyers who see it as a sign that you care about maintaining an updated home. A new water heater is just one of many plumbing upgrades that may justify a higher asking price — a kitchen or bathroom remodel can also. Market conditions in your region are just as important as plumbing upgrades like installation of a new water heater in determining a property’s value and what buyers are willing to pay.
