By Maggie Saint John

The kids are out of school for the holidays and Christmas spirit is filling the air. Fulfill all your decorating needs with this DIY Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer that is easy to make and one that the kids will love. This crafty way to repurpose toilet paper rolls is environmentally friendly and festive! Follow our step-by-step instructions and create the perfect recycled Rudolph.

Here's What You Will Need:

  • Toilet paper rolls
  • Markers
  • Googly craft eyes
  • Red puff ball (for nose)
  • Glue

Step One

Depending on how many reindeer you plan to make, begin collecting toilet paper rolls around your home (or paper towel rolls and cut in half). One toilet paper roll will make one reindeer. Flatten the toilet paper roll by laying it on its side and pushing downward.

Step Two

After the toilet paper roll has been flattened, prepare to cut out the shape of your reindeer. Looking at the photo below and cut out the same shapes from your toilet paper roll. Be careful when cutting through the double layer of cardboard!

Step Four

Now for Rudolph's antlers! Slightly pull on the antlers to separate them from the toilet paper roll. Then fold them twice to create a spiral effect for them to stand up straight. Apply to both antlers.
