Fireworks are a big part of any 4th of July celebration. This year make it a safe one for you and your little ones. The best family memories are created when the whole family can get involved. With this easy DIY firecracker craft you and your whole family will get to enjoy all the fun of firecrackers without any fire safety hazards. We still recommend having adult supervision while setting off your firecrackers.
Watch our video below to see the finished project in-action!
*Note: We had slight technical difficulties with one of our firecrackers, because we made the tube too long. Be sure to measure the string on your popper, and make the tube short enough to reach!
Here’ what you will need:
- Three toilet paper rolls
- All purpose paint
- Pipe cleaners
- Three poppers
Repurpose toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls for this project. If using a paper towel roll consider cutting in half to make it easier to work with. Paint the rolls and let dry. Next, dry designs with glue and glitter. Insert pipe cleaners and fasten with tape. Secure popper to the bottom of the roll in a position where the string is visible from the bottom. When you are ready, pull string and release confetti for a safety hazard free firecracker.
