Customer Reviews in Lake Jackson, Texas

  • After purchasing a home in League City, we immediately encountered sewage backing up into all of the downstairs tubs and showers in the house. Called in a service request (at 10pm) via the warranty with American Home Shield who passed the request onto Mr. Rooter Plumbing. Mr. Rooter Plumbing promptly contacted us first thing the next morning and John and his assistant (sorry I don’t remember his name) were at our house by 11am. They quickly diagnosed our issue as being a collapsed main sewer line under our driveway before it reached the city side of the sewer. John called the issue into American Home Shield, who quickly denied the repair because the issue was “outside the footprint of the house” and therefore was not covered by our policy. Despite this we went ahead and agreed to have Mr. Rooter Plumbing perform the repair. So John and his crew were at our house the next morning at 9am, at which time they very accurately mapped out where the hole in our driveway needed to be, cut the concrete, and dug down to sewer pipe. They replaced the faulty pipe and called out the city inspector who came out the next morning and approved the repair. The following day the “dig crew” returned, filled in the hole and repaired the concrete, including rebar tied into the existing slab. The crew then hung around for a couple more hours to tend to the concrete, which resulted in a repair that is very consistent with the rest of the driveway. All told from start to finish the total repair took 3 days, however the all important sewer line was functioning in a bit over a day after Mr Rooter Plumbing contacted us. I’m always wary of home service companies and contractors, but in the case of Mr. Rooter Plumbing, specifically John and his crew (not to mention John’s brother who also came out and who was super nice), everything they did from the diagnosis of the issue to the explanation, schedule and execution of the repair, was exactly as promised, which in my opinion is a rarity these days. Bottom line, the American Home Shield warranty was completely worthless, but Mr. Rooter Plumbing came thru for us with extremely quick, accurate and honest service. Frequently Asked Questions About Sewer Line Repair in Lake Jackson, Texas

Make your decision about sewer line repairs with confidence by reading more about them in our ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ below. The hardworking team at Mr. Rooter Plumbing® in Lake Jackson, Texas is happy to answer any questions you have about sewer line repairs.

  • Many things can contribute to the costs of sewer line replacements, such as where the sewer lines will be removed and laid and how deep they must be installed, so contact your local sewer line installation expert for costs and information specific to your property. The replacement method for a sewer line can contribute to the overall sewer line replacement cost, such as traditional excavation involving digging a trench or trenchless technology through pipe bursting or pipe lining. The pipe materials used in sewer line replacement can play a leading role in the overall cost, such as high-density polyethylene (HDPE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS). Your local service professional will provide a sewer line replacement estimate based on factors like where you live, expected labor costs, the need for permits, site restoration required, and ease of access.

  • As some sewer lines require significant repairs while others only need minor repairs, most service providers can’t tell you exactly how much it will cost to repair a sewer line without seeing it, but a general guideline is $50 to $300 per foot for skill and equipment The sewer line repair bill you receive from a trusted local service provider may be made up of factors like the repair method, such as trenchless technology or traditional excavation. As localized damage tends to be less expensive than damage to an entire sewer line, request a job estimate from a trusted sewer line replacement business. Parts and materials make up a considerable part of sewer line repair bills, including ABS, PVC, and HDPE pipes, along with couplings, connectors, and repair sleeves.

  • There’s a chance you’ll be required to pay for sewer line repairs if there’s an issue with any part of the upper sections of your sewer lines responsible for carrying waste from your property to the main sewer lines. Although the lower sections of your sewer line lie beyond your property boundaries, you’re usually still responsible for covering any repair costs. You may not have to cover the costs of sewer line problems that are related to connections to a public treatment facility since it’s part of the public infrastructure. Both homeowners and the city can be responsible for sewer line repairs, so contact your local service provider for more information.

  • Homeowners insurance may cover sewer line replacement or repairs if damage is caused by lightning, fire, hail, or windstorms. Some homeowners are able to claim insurance through their homeowners’ insurance policy when their sewer lines are damaged beyond repair due to vandalism, an aircraft, a falling object, or an explosion. In some situations, your insurance company may cover the costs of sewer line replacement if a volcanic eruption, a civil disturbance, or a riot is to blame for it being damaged in the first place. There are many situations in which insurance companies won’t cover sewer line replacement, such as if they were damaged through preventable means like poor maintenance or faulty construction.

  • As every town, city, and state has different rules for infrastructure, there is no blanket rule for whether you need to obtain a permit for sewer line replacement. The exact location of your house or business structure may determine whether you need to request a permit to replace the sewer lines on your property. Some rural property owners in the United States find that they don’t need to request a permit for sewer line replacement if they don’t have city connections. If you’re getting ready to replace your sewer lines, inquire about a permit since it’s a typical requirement if you have city water and sewer connections.

  • Sewer line construction materials can play a massive part in how long they last, with some materials like clay not lasting as long as the likes of PVC, which may last around a century. Not all trees will cause sewer line damage, but their roots can undoubtedly be a risk factor for a shortened sewer line lifespan due to pipe damage and blockages. The lifespan of metal-containing sewer lines can be affected by corrosion when they are exposed to minerals like calcium and magnesium for a long time. If your sewer lines have been exposed to temperature extremes or blocked by debris, sludge, and grease, you may need to replace them sooner than expected.

  • You can typically expect sewer line replacement to take around one to five days when you hire trusted professionals with years of experience in the industry. How many days it takes to replace a sewer line can often depend on the replacement method, like traditional excavation, pipe bursting, or pipe lining. Think about the length of the sewer lines you’re replacing since the longer your lines are, the longer it can take to replace them due to the need for more labor. A number of factors contribute to the length of time it takes to install new sewer lines, such as their depth, soil conditions, site preparation, and site restoration.

  • You may have a broken sewer pipe if you notice an unpleasant odor coming from your drain or in its general vicinity. Don’t underestimate the importance of calling a trusted plumbing service provider if you have slow drainage issues since this problem can mean there’s a break in your sewer pipe. Investigate your sewer lines if you hear strange sounds coming from your drains or see unusual wet patches on your property, as these can both indicate possible sewer line issues. If you have a severe sewer pipe problem that has been left untreated, you may notice severe signs like foundation cracks, which can be caused by the ground becoming waterlogged and weakened.

  • Reach out to a trusted plumbing service provider with licensing and insurance to fix a broken sewer pipe underground on your property instead of attempting it yourself. Traditional excavation is a standard method for fixing broken sewer pipes underground, involving excavating the area, repairing or replacing the pipe, backfilling the trench, and restoring the surface. Some sewer line professionals recommend advanced trenchless repair methods like pipelining, where a liner is inserted into an existing pipe without digging it up. Pipe bursting may be a repair method worth exploring with your chosen repair professional, which involves the use of a bursting head to break up a damaged pipe and put a new pipe in its place.

  • When keeping your sewer lines functional involves regularly requesting sewer line repairs from service professionals, you may like to consider sewer line replacement before long. When sewer lines are poorly maintained, they can start to have costly problems that can make it more cost-effective to replace your sewer lines. When tree roots have grown into your sewer lines, causing damage, blockages, and air and water pressure changes, inquire about replacing your sewer lines. When sewer lines have been improperly laid out and installed, replacing them can be necessary for them to function at their best for years to come.
