You know that there is a problem with your hot water heater if the water is not heating up enough or if it does not give you any hot water, but there are other signs of trouble to look out for:
- Discolored or gritty water can indicate your anode rod has worn down or corroded. Replacing this anode can have your water clear again. The source may also be mineral buildup or rusting in the water tank or plumbing pipes.
- The smell of rotten eggs is off-putting without it coming from your water supply. The culprit may be old pipes leaching metal into the water. The smell of rotten eggs can also be due to a gas leak. Do NOT ignore this dangerous sign!
- Condensation can cause water to pool around the water heater, but if the tank is leaking around the seams, then you may have to arrange a water heater replacement in Tampa.
- Gurgling noises coming from the water heater tank is natural, but popping, crackling, and grinding sounds can indicate sediment buildup in the water heater tank.
If you notice any of these warning signs, then call Mr. Rooter Plumbing to have a technician come by and inspect the unit. The sooner you address small issues, the better.
