Customer Reviews in Beacon Hill, Washington

  • I’ll start with this: Yes, I would totally recommend Mr Rooter. Broken sewer pipes are never good news, and unexpected & sudden discovery is not likable. It started with an overflowing mess in our basement and ended up with a large, new section of pipe, deep in our front yard. To the rescue was Mr Rooter. After an emergency clearing of our drain pipes (fast response!), they found a “blockage” using camera probe). Turned out the pipe was broken, buried 7 feet deep. They dug down, found another break and another. Four in total. Huge tree roots had crushed the pipe. This was not an easy nor inexpensive venture. On the upside, Vinnie – our Mr Rooter project manager – was awesome. This kind of problem causes quite a disruption in our life, with the water/drainage unusable as the fix was happening, but the communication and clear explanation from a very experienced and understanding Vinnie, things went as well as could be hoped for. He and his crew were efficient, hard-working, friendly, and respectful of our needs and property – and wallet. Vinnie was refreshingly honest and candid about our options as the ordeal unfolded. Everything was handled professionally and the site was secured and blocked off, with all permits in place (and no complaints from the neighbors), and a tidy jobsite. While costs for this kind of work is not inexpensive, I think we got a fair value. Big thanks to Vinnie – and crew! We’ll use them for maintenance in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sewer Line Repair in Beacon Hill, Washington

Read the answers to our’Frequently Asked Questions’ below to make an informed decision about sewer line repairs. If you have questions about sewer line repairs or our other services, contact Mr. Rooter Plumbing® in Beacon Hill, Washington to speak to one of our friendly team.

  • Contact an expert in sewer line installation for sewer line replacement costs specific to your property since many factors contribute to the cost, such as the installation depth, how much sewer line you need to replace, and where it’s being replaced, such as under a driveway, under concrete, or in landscaping. Talk to your local sewer line replacement expert about their preferred replacement methods, as some types may be more or less expensive and preferred than others. The materials used in replacing a sewer line may impact the cost since some are more expensive than others, such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), and high-density polyethylene (HDPE). You may pay less or more for commercial or residential sewer line replacement than someone else based on where you live, the labor costs unique to your job, access, site restoration, permits, and regulations.

  • Determining an average price to repair a sewer line can be challenging because some sewer lines require major repairs, while others only need minor repairs, but you can typically expect $50 to $300 per foot for equipment and skill. Repair methods can contribute to the costs of sewer line repair, with labor content for repair methods like pipe bursting, pipe lining, and traditional excavation being different from one job to the next. Request a job estimate from a trusted plumbing service provider to learn how much to expect to pay for sewer line repairs since damage to an entire sewer line can cost more than localized damage. Sewer line repair experts need to use a range of materials and parts like couplings, repair sleeves, connectors, and pipes, which can contribute to your overall bill.

  • If you’ve identified problems in your sewer line’s upper sections that carry sewage from your property to the main sewer line, it’s likely that you’ll need to pay for sewer line repairs yourself. While the lower sections of your sewer line that connect the upper sections to the main sewer line are not on your property, you are typically still responsible for the costs of repairs. If your sewer problems are related to the sewer lines that are part of the public-serving infrastructure and connected to a public treatment facility, there’s a good chance your city will need to pay for them to be repaired. Contact a trusted sewer line repair business in your area to learn whether you or your city is responsible for sewer line repairs.

  • When homeowners’ sewer lines are damaged in events like windstorms, fires, hail, or lightning, file a claim with your homeowners’ insurance provider since they may cover replacement costs. You may be able to claim insurance for sewer line replacement if a falling object, an explosion, vandalism, or an aircraft caused damage to your sewer lines, and service professionals recommend replacement. Damage caused by riots, civil disturbances, vehicles, and volcanic eruptions is sometimes covered by homeowner insurance policies, depending on the situation. In situations where your sewer lines need to be replaced because you didn’t maintain them or made avoidable errors in their installation and care, it’s unlikely that your homeowners’ insurance will provide coverage.

  • Every state has its own rules and regulations, which means whether or not you need a permit to replace a sewer line can vary across the whole country. In many situations, your home or business’s location can often play a part in whether or not you need to obtain a permit to replace your sewer line. While most property owners require permits for sewer line replacement, you may not need one if you live rurally and don’t have city service connections. If your commercial or residential property has sewer and water connections, it’s generally expected that you’ll need to apply for a permit to replace your sewer lines.

  • What your sewer lines are made of can undoubtedly contribute to their lifespan, with materials like PVC believed to last up to 100 years, decades longer than many other sewer line materials, such as clay. While you can’t see what happens under the surface, there’s a chance any trees planted near sewer lines can result in pipe damage, blockages from roots, and air and water pressure changes. If your metal-containing sewer lines have been exposed to calcium and magnesium for extended periods and contain metal, they may start to rust, which can ultimately affect their lifespan. Temperature extremes and blockages caused by debris, grease, and sludge may affect how long your sewer lines last before you need to replace them.

  • Every installation is different, but many of the best sewer line replacement businesses can install new sewer lines on a property in around one to five days. The timeline for sewer line replacement can depend on how it’s being replaced, such as through trenchless methods like pipe bursting and pipe lining or traditional excavation methods. The size of your sewer line replacement project can contribute to the timeline since a large project can require more labor and hours. Several factors impact the timeframe for sewer line replacement, such as the depth of your sewer lines, the soil conditions, and what’s required to prepare the site and restore it once the new lines are installed.

  • If you’ve noticed an unpleasant smell from the area around your drains, there’s a chance this is a sign that your sewer pipe is broken and requires repairs or replacement. If you’ve noticed slow drainage in your home or business, there’s a chance that your sewer pipe has a blockage or breakage – reach out to a trusted plumbing service provider for help. Take notice if you spot wet patches in your yard or hear weird gurgling sounds coming from your drains, as these issues can indicate possible sewer line problems. You may notice major or minor cracks in your property’s foundation if you’ve had a sewer pipe problem for a long time and haven’t resolved it.

  • While it can be tempting to fix a broken sewer pipe underground yourself, hiring trusted plumbing service providers with licensing and insurance is in your best interests. Many sewer line service providers rely on traditional excavation for sewer line repairs, which involves site excavation, pipe repair or replacement, backfilling the trench, and restoring the site. Your chosen service professional may recommend a trenchless repair method known as pipe lining for fixing a broken sewer pipe underground, which involves inserting a liner into an existing pipe. You may decide to fix a broken sewer pipe underground using pipe bursting, which involves using a bursting head to break up an old pipe while putting a new one in its place.

  • When you’re regularly requesting sewer line repairs from professionals just to keep them functional, now is the right time to inquire about sewer line replacement. It is more cost-effective to replace sewer lines than continually repair those that are old or poorly maintained. Sewer line replacement can be on the cards for your property if tree roots have started to cause damage, blockages, and changes in water and air pressure. Poorly laid out and badly installed sewer lines can be of great concern to homeowners who typically find replacing their sewer lines more cost-effective and less time-consuming than repairing or modifying them.
