  • Here is my honest review of Mr.Rooter plumbing my sewer was backed up and needed service Mr.Rooter plumbing was able to send Chris out on New years Day which most companies aren’t working on that day very pleased to get service on a Holliday. So that day Chris was only able to get about 25 feet of the line open and that took hours but the level did go down some it got me through the next couple of days Chris recommended hydro rodding the system because the normal rod machine couldn’t get through the blockage severe tree root blockage in my sewer line luckily my clean out is in the front of my yard and all waste went into the front yard which I got lucky because the back pressure blew the clean out lid off which did prevent backup in my home. So Chris the technician scheduled me for that Wednesday to start the hydro rodding process very expensive Chris told me that if the hydro can’t get through I’ve got bigger problems. and oh yeah while doing the normal rodding he pulled out the rod from the previous rodding company who wasn’t honest enough to tell me that there rod broke off in my sewer system. So Chris starts up the machine and begins the hydro rodding midway into the job a big problem happened some kind a way the rodding was going into the piping in the house and not the street side so instantly I ran out the house and told Chris that the rodding sounded like it was in the house and that it was very loud and noisy Chris immediately stopped rodding and wanted me to go back and check in the house so I did but it was to late the pressure from the hydro machine blew the cap off my waste pipe inside my house and yep now there’s waste water all over my basement floor I gotta admit I felt like crying I was so hurt by this unforeseen mishap Chris was aware and remained calm we discussed the matter and he assured me that everything would be covered Chris contacted his company explaining the matter and from there a restoration team was sent out that night at no cost to me, Chris was finally able after battling tree roots in my line for 3 or more hours, was able to clear my entire sewer line, absolutely phenomenal work by Chris. Chris also told me that the owner of the company said no matter what it takes to stay there until the job is done and the customer is happy, awesome. I was so relived that mr.rooter took responsibility and stood by there work and took care of me. Chris is truly a professional and had such integrity he is no slouch looking to cut corners very good at what he does.so the job ends lines are wide open. So the very next day the restoration team had to come back and finish up but to my surprise Chris and the owner of the company showed up to help with anything that needed to be done in the basement where the flood took place. Words can’t explain how much I appreciated that the owner of the company along with tech Chris showed up to help, wow!! So to end it all, my sewer lines are clear and open for more than a 80 ft stretch which was horribly blocked with tree roots, and the restoration team who Mr rooter sent did an amazing clean up job can’t even tell there was a waste back up in my basement as of this writing the machines are drying out any left over moisture in my basement. To whoever reads this I highly recommend Mr.rooter they are a fantastic company and stand behind there work and, are honest about what they do. If you feel like your current sewer plumbing company's not doing a good job get rid of ‘‘em like I did and give Mr.rooter a try. I would like to Thank the owner of Mr.rooter and Chris for there hard work, and honesty. For me this is the only company that I will deal with for all my plumbing needs.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sewer Line Repair in Braidwood, Illinois

For more details about sewer line repairs to help you decide your next course of action, read the answers to our ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ below. If you’d like to learn more about our plumbing services in Braidwood, Illinois, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team by phone or using our online form.

  • Sewer line replacement costs on your property can depend on how much you need to replace, where it’s being replaced, and where you live, so contact a sewer line installation professional for specific information and costs relevant to your property. Preferred replacement methods contribute to average sewer line replacement costs, such as traditional excavation, or more modern trenchless methods like pipe bursting and pipe lining. The materials your trusted sewer line replacement team uses can contribute to your overall bill, with materials like HDPE, PVC, and ABS often varying in price. Whether you’re replacing commercial or residential sewer lines, factors like permits, regulations, labor costs, access, and site restoration can all contribute to sewer line replacement costs.

  • The costs associated with sewer line repairs can vary based on many factors, including whether the repairs required are significant or minor, but a general guideline is $50 to $300 per foot for skill and equipment. The repair method can contribute to an overall sewer line repair bill, such as traditional excavation by digging a trench or trenchless technology involving pipe bursting or pipe lining. Localized damage tends to cost less than more extensive sewer line damage, so the extent of the damage contributes to your overall sewer line repair bill. The parts and materials your sewer line repair team needs for the job form part of the overall bill, such as couplings, connectors, repair sleeves, and pipes made of PVC, ABS, and HDPE.

  • When there are problems in the upper sections of your sewer system that carry sewage from your property to the main sewer line, you are likely responsible for sewer line repairs. In many parts of the country, property owners are responsible for sewer line repairs for issues in the lower sections of sewer lines that connect the main line to the upper section. Sewer line issues involving the main sewer lines carrying wastewater to a public treatment facility may be the responsibility of your local municipality since they are part of the public-serving infrastructure. Contact a sewer line repair service provider you trust to understand who should repair and pay for sewer line damage on your property.

  • In many situations, homeowners insurance providers will pay for sewer line replacement if a hailstorm, lightning, a windstorm, or a fire damaged your sewer lines. When sewer line damage has occurred due to a falling object, an aircraft, a vehicle, vandalism, or an explosion, your insurance provider may approve your request for them to cover the costs. Insurance companies often cover sewer line replacement in a number of unique and unlikely situations, such as damage from volcanic eruptions, civil disturbances, and riots. Homeowner insurance may not cover sewer line replacement if your sewer lines have been physically damaged through preventable means like poor upkeep, avoidable errors, faulty construction, and sewage backup.

  • When you’re thinking about replacing your sewer line, you may need to look up specific rules for your city or state since permit requirements can differ across various states. Whether or not you need a permit to replace a sewer line can depend on the location of your home or business. There’s a chance you may not need to obtain a sewer line replacement permit if your property isn’t connected to your local town or city’s water scheme. In most situations, residential and commercial properties with water and sewer services must apply for a permit before replacing their sewer lines with the help of trusted professionals.

  • What your sewer pipes are made out of can sometimes contribute to their lifespan since some materials, like PVC, can last for decades longer than other materials and even up to around 100 years. If you have planted trees near your sewer lines, their roots may not be doing your sewer lines any favors — their roots can damage pipes and cause blockages. If your sewer lines feature metal and have been exposed to minerals like calcium and magnesium, there’s a chance they can be affected by corrosion, which may shorten their lifespan. How long your sewer lines last can depend on many factors like blockages, poor installation, a lack of maintenance over their lifetime, and even temperature extremes.

  • When you hire licensed and insured service professionals with experience in sewer line replacement, you can often expect the process to take between one to five days. How long it takes to install your new sewer lines can depend on the installation method, such as traditional excavation versus trenchless with pipe bursting and pipe lining. How long your sewer line is can contribute to the sewer line replacement timeline, with longer lines requiring more work, time, and effort than shorter lines. The depth of your sewer lines, site preparation efforts, and even the soil conditions on your property all contribute to the typical duration for sewer line replacement.

  • As soon as you smell a foul smell coming from around your drain, take notice, as this could indicate a broken sewer pipe that you need to replace. Talk to a sewer repair team about a possible broken sewer pipe if you notice slow drainage, which can often indicate cracks and clogs. Don’t underestimate the importance of checking unusual symptoms like drain sounds and wet spots in your yard, as these can mean that you have a broken sewer pipe. If you’ve noticed cracks around your property’s foundation, look for other signs of a broken sewer pipe, as they can cause weakened and oversaturated soil when not fixed quickly.

  • As soon as you suspect that you have a broken sewer pipe, contact a licensed and insured plumbing service provider in your area to fix it for you. When your sewer pipe needs to be repaired, your local plumbing service provider will excavate the site, repair or replace the pipe, backfill the hole, and restore the site to what it was. Fixing a broken sewer pipe underground can often involve pipe lining in which you insert a liner into an existing pipe and inflate it to create a new one. For a broken sewer line, pipe bursting might be an ideal solution involving a bursting head to burst the old pipe while pulling a new one into the same place.

  • If you’re dedicating a great deal of time to repairing an old sewer line to keep it working for your home or business, now might be the right time to explore sewer line replacement. Sewer line replacement is a worthwhile option if your sewer lines have been poorly maintained in the past and now have many costly related problems. If your local sewer line repair team has found considerable tree root damage in your sewer lines, replacement is normally a more cost-effective and better option than repairs. Ineffective layout, poor installation practices in the past, and debris buildup in your sewer lines may all be reasons why you or your chosen sewer line professional would replace sewer lines.
