They had a plumbing tech come out within a hour of my call, he did a great job. There were no huge hidden fees. I would not hesitate to recommend, or call Mr. Rooter again, and will definitely ask for Robert Simmons.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆For several years we've had on-and-off problems with sewer backups on one side of our house, whenever we have a guest in the guest room and using the bathroom on that side of the house. Other companies would roto-root to solve the immediate problem, but never managed to really solve it all the way. Brock from Mr. Rooter told us his suspicion that the problem lay with our "Orangeburg pipes" that made up the sewer connectors from our house out some distance, and he found where a choke point was. He dug up the pipe and found it literally falling apart. He replaced it with PVC, all 30 feet from our house to a connector further out from the house, where it joints with a clay sewer. He installed two vertical sewer cleanup pipes and explained to us how each one curves in a different direction, so that a plumber dealing with any blockage in the future will know which way the rooter tool is pointing. He also answered several questions of mine about other plumbing matters, that he probably thought were really stupid, without a trace of condescension. He took time to educate my husband and me, who know very little about plumbing. Brock from Mr. Rooter was: 1) Prompt and quick to get our problem solved, even when the city had to get involved due to the digging in our yard 2) Polite and informative – did not get impatient or talk down to us, but explained what was happening in an easy-to-understand manner. Good at communicating when decision points were reached; did not leave us hanging. 3) Knowledgeable about local conditions, common pipe and sewer issues in houses of our age, and about things that are usually NOT problems. Knowledgeable about code requirements for both Columbia and Jefferson City. 4) Effective at solving our nagging, ongoing problem once and for all. 5) Neat. Even after jackhammering and digging in our backyard, the place did not look torn up at all, and of course there was no trace of our old, disintegrated sewer pipes by the time we got home from work that same day. 6) A good advocate for us with our insurance company, which keeps telling us that to get better insurance Missouri law supposedly requires us to "update all our plumbing" in order to get good insurance. Brock (as well as other contractors we've spoken with) thinks this "law" is nonsense, and he is doggedly pursuing the question with our insurance company. I like that Mr. Rooter uses a book laying out the charges for each job by the job, not charging surcharges for night or weekend work or even charging by the hour. I don't know what others would charge for the same work we had done, so I can't judge whether the $2300 we paid for the cleaning, digging and replacing was high or low, but to us, the work was absolutely worth it because it gave us what we think will be a real and lasting solution. We will certainly call on Mr. Rooter again and recommend the company to others.

Frequently Asked Questions About Drain Cleaning in Fulton, Missouri
Read our ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ below for more information on drain cleaning services in Fulton. If you have specific drain cleaning questions, contact the team at Mr. Rooter Plumbing® in Fulton, Missouri today.
-
Your preferred service provider, your location, the type of drain, and any problems that are encountered while performing drain cleaning can all contribute to the costs associated with this important service. The type of drain you need cleaned will impact the cost of cleaning, as services for a main sewer line, toilet, bathroom sink, or kitchen sink may require different tools and techniques. You can pay more or less for drain cleaning depending on the tools needed for the job, such as simple drain snakes to clean a small clog or HydroScrub® Jetting for tough clogs and thorough cleaning. The drain cleaning bill you receive depends on the condition of your drainage system, whether there are clogs and their locations, and if your drain cleaning service was scheduled or an emergency.
-
When home remedies haven’t been effective for your drain clogs, and they keep recurring, book professional drain cleaning as soon as possible. Slow drainage and multiple clogged drains are a good indicator that you have problems with your plumbing systems or property drainage, requiring the expertise of trained plumbing service providers. Don’t delay contacting a drain cleaning professional if you have an overflowing toilet, gurgling sounds in your drains, or wastewater in your toilet, tub, or sink. When foul smells start taking over your home or business drains, reach out to a trusted drain cleaning professional to clean out any blockages contributing to the problem.
-
Consider booking drain cleaning services with a trusted company at least once a year if you have older plumbing, want to keep on top of plumbing maintenance, or simply want to avoid major plumbing problems. Drain cleaning services with a trusted company every two or three years is recommended when your plumbing systems are modern and have no history of problems. Commercial properties and high-usage households should explore drain-cleaning services on a regular schedule with local drain-cleaning experts. Contact a trusted drain cleaning company for advice if you don’t know how frequently to book drain cleaning services.
-
Most well-established plumbing companies offering drain cleaning services have a wide range of tools and techs for drain cleaning and clearing clogs to ensure more convenience for homeowners and business owners. Both manual and powered handheld tools are commonly found in plumbing toolkits, such as plumbing snakes that manually feed into drains to clear minor clogs. When faced with stubborn debris, grease, and other blockages in your pipes, you may like to talk to your local drain cleaning service provider about HydroScrub® Jetting, an innovative technology for fast and efficient drain cleaning and clearing. Most plumbing service providers want to provide the most comprehensive drain cleaning service, which is why they use pipe inspection tools, video inspection cameras, pipe wrenches, and more.
-
If you want to avoid a clogged drain affecting your home or business, book regular plumbing system servicing and maintenance through a trusted plumbing service provider in your area. Drain screens installed over your drains can be an excellent preventative measure for avoiding drain clogs and blockages caused by everyday debris like hair and food. Don’t underestimate the effectiveness of simple household ingredients like baking soda and vinegar, as well as hot water, for keeping your drains clog-free and smelling fresh and clean. Not tipping grease and oil down your drains, being mindful of what you flush down your drains and even maintaining your garbage disposal may all contribute to clog-free drains.
-
Plumbing experts recommend scheduling drain cleaning once or twice a year, and you can also inquire about additional drain maintenance suggestions to keep your plumbing system in great condition. Many of the best plumbing service providers recommend using drain screens and strainers in sinks, bathtubs, and showers to catch as many particles as possible before they go down the drain and potentially clog it. Regular drain cleaning and drain cleaning home remedies like hot water, vinegar, and baking soda are recommended tips by many experienced plumbing professionals. One of the best pieces of advice that any plumber can give clog-prone households is only to flush toilet paper and waste down their toilets to reduce the risk of blockages.
-
Despite being readily available and heavily marketed, most highly regarded plumbing service providers advise their clients not to buy chemical drain cleaners for drain maintenance. When you want safer and gentler alternatives to chemical drain cleaners, talk to your local plumbing service provider about pantry ingredients like baking soda and vinegar as well as warm water with dish soap. Professional drain cleaning services with drain augers and HydroScrub® Jetting technology are recommended as a safer and more effective alternative to chemical drain cleaners. Industry professionals rarely recommend chemical drain cleaning products because many of them can contain harmful ingredients, cause pipe damage, kill good bacteria in your drains, and irritate your skin.
-
You can experience issues with your sink not draining because the P-trap, also called the sink trap, contains drain-clogging debris like food and hair. As soon as you notice that your sink is slow to drain or isn’t draining at all, inspect the drain lines, as they may be clogged with debris like food and hair. If you or other property occupants have tipped oil or grease down your drains and now notice that your sinks are slow to drain, the solidifying of that oil and grease could be to blame. Food particles, problems with main sewer lines, pipe venting issues, pipe damage, and even issues relating to improper plumbing pipe or fixture installation can cause sinks not to drain.
-
A solution of baking soda and vinegar left to sit in your drain for half an hour may help clear minor drain blockages. If clogs in your drain are caused by grease and grime, hot water with dish soap may be a fast and easy way to remove minor or partial clogs. It’s not uncommon for property owners to encounter tough clogs that don’t shift with home remedies, which means that professional drain cleaning service providers with HydroScrub® Jetting and drain snakes can be your next port of call. Clear clogs by pouring baking soda and salt down your home or business drains as an abrasive yet gentle clog-clearing solution.
-
Plumbing drain snakes are an excellent way to clean drain pipes in a bathroom, especially since they are straightforward to use — insert them into your drain opening and pull them out with debris attached. It may be easy enough to loosen debris and clean your bathroom drains by pouring vinegar and baking soda down them and leaving them to fizz up for around 30 minutes. You may find it easy to clean your bathroom drains if you first tip dish soap and hot water down them and let them sit for 10 minutes. If you don’t have the time or knowledge to clean or unclog your own bathroom pipes, contact a trusted drain cleaning service provider in your area to do it for you.
