Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆This company did so much for me and family. Weve had sewer issues, living in a home with old terracotta sewer lines and continuous clogs. They came out twice in the last two years both times in the middle of winter, snowing and dealing with frozen ground. They saved the day and arrived immediately. They were so responsive and professional. They wanted to help and they did. They found the clogs and they did what they could until they could dig up a portion of my yard and replace the pipes. Tony, the main plumber that showed up was so amazing. Tony is the hardest worker in any profession that I've ever dealt with. His second hand man, Mike B. Was also amazing and hard working. They both dealt with my many questions, and Mike B had a really good way to explain things to me. Julia, a dispatcher, is a woman that I spoke with often about my issue(s), because we did hit a few issues with my township wanting to drag their feet. Julia made me feel comfortable and at ease when things took longer than expected. Both owners of the company also spoke with my husband and I on a few occasions, and they came to the rescue dealing with the township so that I did not have to. Everyone at this company was also understanding when we decided we wanted more pipe dug up and replaced than we had originally contracted for. Not only did they replace pipe and dig up the yard, they put the yard back together, replaced a toilet, replaced a faucet, cleaned a shower drain, and helped me trouble shoot the kitchen drain. They know my house and plumbing so we'll we this point that I will always use them as my plumber. How could I use anyone else? They know me and my home. They were also amazing with my dog and her blindness and deaf issues. They always wore footies in the house covering their boots and always made sure the dog was locked up before coming and going out of my gate and fenced in yard. I am so grateful for Mr. Rooter, and especially Tony, Mike B. And Julia. I recommend them through and through.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I loved the service, but if you want to compete with Roto-Rooter, you need to lower the cost of the video camera and assessment service. Roto-Rooter was charging $275 for this and you guys were at ~$473. That is outrageous for fishing a video camera through a pipe. Frankly, I felt that even Roto-Rooter’s fee was too high. In the long run, I’m happy that I gambled the money with Mr. Rooter because I trust Roto-Rooter technicians about as far as I can throw them. But if you wish to compete with them, you MUST win your customers by matching or beating their fees right from the start. If you were not well versed in a specific field and you were given the choice between two services, which service would you probably choose, the one that costs $275 or the one that cost $475?

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Let me preface this review by stating I have used numerous other contractors in the area for a variety of different projects. I am so happy I finally connected with Mr. Rooter. I had been dealing with a poorly flushing toilet at my property. I had a service tech come out and we discovered I had a venting issue. I took care of that and things were good for a few months. Fast forward to the toilet is now not flushing at all. I contacted Mr. Rooter in the early evening and unfortunately they could not get there til the next day. I ended up dealing with not one but two incompetent companies with issues ranging from poor communication to just not taking the time to properly address the issue, roots infiltrating the main line in the yard. This cost me two days having a house with no flushing toilet and poorly draining sinks. Fortunately I was able to get on their schedule for a Friday afternoon appointment. The service techs worked hard to break through the roots to at least get the line open for the weekend. Monday they were back to water jet the line to clear out all remaining roots and build up collected in an old cast iron to clay line. The cost of both service calls were hundreds less than one quote I received from a tech who was supposed to open the line the week before and just could not pull it off. I will not name the other companies but Mr. Rooter is now the only company I will refer my own personal clients to. Communication is key to a happy customer and I am very satisfied with everyone I have dealt with from the office staff to the service techs that have been to the property.

Frequently Asked Questions About Septic Tank Pumping in Grantham, Pennsylvania
If you have questions about septic tank pumping and septic tank cleaning, you may find the information you’re looking for in our ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ below. If you have any questions about our business and services, contact the team at Mr. Rooter Plumbing® in Grantham, Pennsylvania today.
-
In most situations, the septic tank pumping business you hire and your address contribute to the overall costs associated with septic tank pumping services. In most situations, the size of your tank makes a difference in septic tank pumping costs — larger tanks often cost more than smaller ones. If you pump your septic tank regularly, your local septic tank pumping company may charge you less than if you didn’t because there’s less waste to pump and a lower risk of the tank overflowing. Your local septic tank pumping business may charge for their services based on your property’s proximity to the waste disposal site, the condition and location of your tank, and whether additional services are needed.
-
Because everyone’s septic tanks and properties are different, there doesn’t tend to be a ‘one size fits all’ rule for how many times a year you should pump your septic tank. Several factors affect how often it can be necessary to pump out a septic tank, like the type of wastewater your property produces, how much solid waste your property occupants produce, and even your area’s climate. Book septic tank pumping services with a trusted professional every three to five years to prevent sewage backup and health hazards. It’s often in your best interests to ask your local septic tank pumping business about the best pumping frequency based on your unique property’s setup.
-
When your drains start backing up in your home or business, this is a warning sign that your septic tank needs to be pumped. If your toilets and drains don’t flush, your septic tank could be full and stopping wastewater from being able to escape through your drain pipes. A foul odor around your property, pooling water in your yard, and strange sounds coming from drains and pipes are all signs that it’s time to book septic tank pumping for a full tank. Lush, green lawn that stands out from the rest of your property may mean that you need to book septic tank pumping services without delay.
-
With so many septic tank pumping businesses in busy towns and cities, you often need to set time aside to find the right person for the job. Don’t underestimate the value of the Internet, search engines, and online business directories when you’re trying to learn who offers septic tank pumping in your area. If your friends, family members, or neighbors have septic tanks, ask them if they recommend a particular septic tank pumping business for you to use. As home improvement store employees regularly see service-based business owners, you may be able to ask them if they know of a trusted septic tank pumping business in your area.
-
You don’t have to wait until a specific time of the year to pump your septic tank — contact a trusted septic tank pumping service provider whenever you need to. Frozen and snow-covered ground can sometimes make septic tank pumping challenging; if this bothers you, book septic tank pumping for a warmer time of the year. Warmer seasons like spring and summer are among the best for septic tank pumping, so book your next service in advance to secure a time slot. Avoid booking a septic tank pumping service during extreme weather or when there are heavy rains that may create mud and make excavation challenging.
-
While you might think you can pump your own septic tanks, taking a DIY approach to this job isn’t recommended due to the need for specialized equipment and knowledge. You likely won’t choose to pump your own septic tank because you need safety equipment to avoid harmful pathogens and bacteria, as well as a vacuum truck with septic pumping hoses. Homeowners and business owners should hire professionals for septic tank pumping because they know how to dispose of waste responsibly, have years of experience, and understand how to handle septic tank systems. Legal or regulatory challenges may be associated with pumping your septic tank yourself and disposing of the waste, which can be avoided by leaving it to the experts.
-
Typically, you need to pump conventional septic systems with septic tanks and drain fields every three to five years to remove scum and sludge. Despite being different from conventional septic systems, you still need to maintain, monitor, and pump your aerobic treatment system with aeration chambers every three to five years. Whether you have a septic tankless system, a sand mound system, a chamber system, or a drip irrigation system, you will likely still need to prioritize regular maintenance and pumping, depending on usage. There’s nothing wrong with contacting a septic tank pumping service provider in your area if you’re unsure how frequently you should pump your septic tank.
-
Many rural properties in the United States, up to around 25%, have septic systems, also known as decentralized wastewater treatment systems, so they can treat their own sewage on their properties. Simply put, most septic systems collect wastewater from properties, trap solids and scum in a tank, filter out contaminants, and return treated liquid to the nearby drainage field. Greywater and blackwater from toilets, washing machines, showers, and similar leave your home and make their way to your septic system through a main drainage pipe. Septic systems have complex wastewater treatment processes in which viruses, bacteria, and other impurities are removed before the water drains into bodies of water like lakes and streams.
-
If a septic tank isn’t emptied regularly, you can experience clogs, overflowing, plumbing backups into your home, and drain field problems that often require the help of service professionals to fix. Groundwater and soil contamination can often result from not pumping your septic tank regularly since sewage can spill out of an overfull tank. Septic system damage that requires professional repairs can sometimes happen when you don’t perform maintenance or book regular septic tank pumping with septic tank pumping service providers. When you don’t empty your septic tank as often as experts recommend, it’s not uncommon to notice unpleasant smells, increased repair costs, and poor system functionality.
-
Look for a concrete or green or black plastic lid that measures around two feet in diameter on your property, as this can be what most common septic tank lids look like. Any property owner struggling to find their septic tank lid may have luck locating it by referring to their property’s diagram, which often shows the septic tank’s location. Finding your septic tank lid can sometimes be as straightforward as digging a metal probe into the ground every few feet until you come across something that feels like a septic tank lid. Homeowners don’t have to find their own septic tank lids; contact your local septic tank pumping experts for help since they have special locating equipment.
