Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

We've lived in our current home for about five years; it's an older place with cast iron pipes, so you could say we've become familiar with several of the local plumbing services over the years across many different plumbing problems. After making our way through three different plumbing services in the first couple of years, we finally decided to try Mr. Rooter, who sent out Jake and we've been requesting him for any plumbing related issues since then! Jake has been on time, courteous, and extremely efficient each time he's done work for us. He was honest and upfront about the pricing for a garbage disposal problem we had, he provided advice on restoration services when he discovered a long standing leak in our walls that had lead to mold, and was invaluable in helping us determine the layout of our drain/sewer pipes and some backflow problems. We've never had any recurring problems with the services he's provided, he fixed the issues and they stayed fixed. I now know that as soon as any plumbing work is needed I can call up Mr. Rooter, request Jake, and he'll have the problem figured out in no time. He's always provided multiple solutions and quickly implemented them once we've decided on the best path forward. Highly recommended! The entire Mr. Rooter team has been extremely responsive, courteous, and helpful. I will definitely continue to use Mr. Rooter for at least as long as Jake is there, but if the rest of their technicians are as skilled and personable as he is, then they've got a customer for life.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sewer Line Repair in Mound, Texas

If you need more information about our sewer line repair services, read the information in our ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ section. The friendly team at Mr. Rooter Plumbing® in Mound, Texas is here to answer any questions you have about our business and services.

  • The length of the sewer line, where you need to install it, and its location under dirt, concrete, or in another spot can determine sewer line replacement costs, so contact your local sewer line installation team for information and costs specific to your property type. A sewer line repair professional’s recommended replacement method can contribute to sewer line replacement costs, such as digging a trench in traditional excavating or using less invasive trenchless methods like pipe bursting and pipe lining. The sewer pipes your chosen professional installs can contribute to sewer line replacement costs, with costs varying across material types like polyvinyl chloride (PVC), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), and high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Sewer line replacement companies factor in sewer line replacement costs beyond materials, like labor, permits, site access and restoration, and any expenses relating to regulations.

  • Costs for sewer line repairs can vary due to the differences in the repair work, but a general guideline for the skill and equipment needed for sewer line repairs is $50 to $300 per foot. Whether your chosen service provider uses traditional excavation or trenchless methods like pipe lining may play a part in how much your sewer line repair bill is. Request a job estimate from a trusted plumbing service provider since the costs associated with extensive and localized damage can vary significantly based on time and materials. You may find that parts and materials can contribute greatly to the overall cost of sewer line repair, including the PVC, HDPE, or ABS pipes and any repair sleeves, connectors, and couplings used.

  • In many situations, property owners are responsible for sewer line repairs when issues arise in the upper sections that link their properties to the main sewer lines. You are likely responsible for repairs to your sewer lines when issues arise in the lower sections that connect your property to the main sewer line. If there is a sewer backup problem relating to the sewer main that carries wastewater to a public treatment facility, your city may be responsible for any repair costs since it’s classed as public-serving infrastructure. There’s always a chance that you or your city may be responsible for sewer line repairs, so contact a sewer line repair team for more information.

  • If damage to your sewer lines is caused by hail, windstorms, fire, or lightning, your home insurance policy may cover the costs of replacing your sewer lines. There’s a chance you’ll be approved for a sewer line replacement insurance claim if your sewer line’s damage relates to vandalism, an explosion, a falling object, or even an aircraft. If, on the odd chance, your sewer lines were damaged in a riot, during a volcanic eruption, or when a civil disturbance took place, your homeowners insurance company may pay for them to be replaced. If your sewer lines were poorly maintained or improperly installed, your homeowners’ insurance company may not cover the costs associated with replacing them.

  • There isn’t one set of rules for all property owners regarding permits for sewer line replacement since requirements can differ in every state. It can often be worth researching permit requirements for sewer line replacement in your specific areas since your property’s exact location may determine whether you need a permit or not. You may not need to request a permit for sewer line replacement if you live in a rural location and your property isn’t connected to city services. Ask your city about sewer line replacement services since most residential and commercial properties with sewer and water connections require them.

  • Some sewer line materials last longer than others, so you can expect your sewer lines’ materials to contribute to their lifespan — such as PVC, which may last up to 100 years. The lifespan of sewer lines can be impacted by tree roots, which can wrap around pipes and crack them, create blockages, and affect water and air pressure. If you have metal-containing sewer lines, any exposure to minerals like magnesium and calcium for extended periods may cause corrosion, affecting their overall lifespan. Your sewer lines may not last as long as expected if they have been blocked with grease, debris, and sludge or exposed to temperature extremes.

  • While every property is different, many licensed and insured service professionals with experience in sewer line replacement will complete the job in around one to five days. The sewer line replacement method can contribute to the overall timeframe, with some methods taking less or more time than others, like pipe lining, pipe bursting, and traditional excavation. The longer your sewer lines are, the longer they take to replace because your sewer line replacement team needs more materials and labor hours. Your local sewer replacement service provider may provide a timeframe for sewer line replacement based on factors like soil conditions, sewer line depth, and how long it will take to prepare and restore the site.

  • If you notice an awful odor coming from in or around your drains, there’s a chance you have a broken or damaged sewer pipe. You may have a suspected clog or crack in your sewer line if you’ve noticed slow drainage in your home or business, which can often require a call to a trusted sewer line replacement business. Start investigating around your sewer lines if you hear unusual sounds coming from your drains or notice soggy patches in your yard since they can be symptoms of broken sewer pipes. On the severe end of the spectrum, you may know you have a broken sewer pipe if you notice cracks in your foundation around the base of walls or its perimeter.

  • You can’t always fix a broken sewer pipe by yourself – instead, contact licensed and insured service providers with years of experience to do it for you. Traditional excavation is a typical sewer pipe repair process where the area is excavated before the pipes are repaired or replaced, the trench is filled, and the surface is restored. Many sewer line repair teams now rely on a trenchless pipelining repair method in which they insert a liner into a damaged pipe without the need to dig it up. Pipe bursting might be a sewer line replacement option you consider, which involves using a bursting head to break up a pipe and put a new sewer line in its place at the same time.

  • Sewer line replacement can be required sooner rather than later if you regularly have to deal with sewer line repairs to keep your sewers functional. Sewer line replacement is a cost-effective option when your home or business sewer lines have been poorly maintained and are now starting to encounter problems. Tree root damage can be among the most obvious ways to know that sewer line replacement is something you need to consider sooner rather than later. In some situations, sewer lines aren’t laid out or installed as they should be, causing problems and sometimes seeing the need for complete sewer line replacement.
