  • After getting horrible service just to get an estimate from several of the “big guys” doing hot water heater replacement in Baltimore I stumbled upon “Mr. Rooter” on Angie’s List and asked for a bid. I spoke with Franz literally five minutes after making the initial query. He was receptive to my upgrading from his suggested water heater and gave me all inclusive price on the phone. Several other companies had given me bids on the phone, but beware, when pressed they’ll tell you that anything that needs to be included to make code isn’t included, like an expansion tank or a floor pan. Gotcha!!! In speaking with Franz he assured me that everything that would be needed to get me code compliant was included in the price and even told me where to find discount coupons to lower the cost. We scheduled the install for Friday 11/23 between 10 and 12. At 10:30 I received a text msg stating that Robbie Whitley would be my installer and that he was on the way. At 11:00 Robbie arrived and before starting he went over the installation with me. He was friendly, courteous, thorough in his detailing the installation and totally professional. Going in I knew that rust and sediment in the tank would be an issue and he was extremely careful to keep the draining process as clean as possible. When Robbie completed the installation you’d never know he’d been there. On completion he explained the new pilot monitoring system, how to adjust the water temperature and the warranty and he was on his way. I would highly recommend Robbie and the folks at Mr Rooter. They were professional, their estimate was honest, accurate and though not the lowest, the ONLY one who gave an estimate on the phone that guaranteed it was all inclusive and this is important. Thank you Mr Rooter!!!!

  • Where you live in the country, and even the septic tank pumping service provider you hire play a leading role in how much it costs to pump a septic tank. If you have a small septic tank, the costs associated with pumping it may be less than if you had a larger one with more waste to remove. Some septic tank pumping companies charge less for regularly scheduled septic tank pumping services compared to infrequent pumping in which the tanks are at risk of overflowing — or already have. Septic tank pumping businesses factor a range of things into their service pricing, like your property’s proximity to their waste disposal site, the condition of your tank, accessibility, and whether you need extra services.

  • Everyone’s septic tank and situation is different, which means there’s no single answer for how regularly you should pump your septic tank. Many factors contribute to how frequently you should pump a septic tank, such as family or business size, tank size, the climate, and whether or not you have a garbage disposal. You can prevent problems like sewage backup and health hazards if you pump your septic tank every three to five years. If you want to know the best septic tank pumping schedule, ask a septic system professional who can provide a recommendation based on your unique setup.

  • You will know your septic tank is full and requires pumping through a septic tank pumping business when the drains in your home or business are starting to back up. Wastewater can’t travel through drains when a septic tank is full, so you might notice that your toilet is no longer flushing when your septic tank needs to be emptied. As a property owner, you will know your septic tank is full when you see water pooling in your yard, unpleasant odors, and strange sounds from drains and pipes. Book a septic tank pumping service if you’ve noticed unusually green patches of grass in your yard that appear healthier than the rest.

  • There can be great value in setting time aside to research septic tank pumping businesses near you so you can find a company you trust to get the job done. Use Internet search engines and online local business directories to find septic tank pumping businesses in your area and narrow down your list of potential options. Many people find it easy to discover trusted septic tank pumping businesses in their area by asking friends, family members, neighbors, and other people they know for recommendations. If you are a regular visitor to a home improvement store, speak to staff who know of local and trusted septic service companies you can rely on to pump your septic tank.

  • If your septic tank is nearly full or full, contact your local trusted septic tank pumping service provider and book a service in their next available time slot. Winter in cold parts of the country can be a less desirable time of year for septic tank pumping since septic tanks can be harder to access with cold, frozen, or snow-covered ground. Book your septic tank pumping service during the warmer summer and spring weather, and don’t forget to book it in advance during this busy period! Check the weather forecast when booking your next septic tank pumping service since it is best to avoid times of extreme weather, such as heavy rain.

  • DIY septic tank pumping is not recommended by most service professionals because experience and specialized equipment are required for a job well done. Homeowners don’t always have easy access to the things needed for successful septic tank pumping, like safety equipment to protect against harmful pathogens as well as vacuum trucks, pumps, and hoses. Given that reputable septic tank pumping businesses know how to handle and dispose of waste safely and understand septic systems, you can feel confident leaving this crucial job to them. In some states, you may face legal problems if you attempt to pump your septic tank and dispose of the waste so eliminate the risk by hiring trusted experts.

  • Pump conventional septic systems with drain fields and septic tanks every three to five years because they get a buildup of scum and sludge. Just like conventional septic systems, aerobic treatment systems with aeration chambers require regular maintenance and monitoring, including pumping every three to five years or as needed. Sand mound systems, chamber systems, drip irrigation systems, septic tankless systems, and constructed wetlands are all types of septic systems that need to be pumped regularly, depending on how frequently they are used. You can ask your local septic tank pumping business for advice on whether you need to hire someone to pump your and how frequently.

  • Many rural properties, and around 25% of US households in total, have septic systems or onsite wastewater treatment systems that enable homeowners to treat wastewater on their own properties. Most septic systems work by receiving the wastewater from structures, keeping the solids in a septic tank, removing any pollutants present, and delivering treated effluent to a drain field in the surrounding environment. Septic systems receive and treat greywater and blackwater from toilets, showers, dishwashers, and other appliances and fixtures that travel from main drainage pipes connected to properties. The wastewater treatment process of a septic system involves draining wastewater into bodies of water like lakes and streams after all impurities like viruses and bacteria are removed.

  • It can be essential to prioritize septic tank pumping on a regular maintenance schedule when the alternative can be dealing with overflowing toilets, drainage blockages, and problems involving your drain field. There can be genuine consequences associated with not emptying your septic tank regularly and letting it become overfull, such as groundwater and soil contamination from sewage leaking from your septic system. You may need to call septic tank pumping service providers if you don’t pump your tank regularly, as infrequent maintenance may lead to septic system damage. You can face a number of consequences associated with infrequent septic tank pumping, like a septic system that’s not as efficient as it should be, increased repair and maintenance costs, and unpleasant odors.

  • Awareness of what your septic tank lid looks like can help with the searching process — most have circular lids around two feet wide featuring concrete or green or black plastic. If you’re having trouble locating your septic tank lid, refer to your property diagram, which may highlight where your septic tank lid has been installed. If you can’t find your septic tank lid, even after what you think is a thorough search, dig a metal probe into the ground every few feet. Contact a septic tank business to help find your septic tank lid because they often have convenient equipment to speed up the process.
